Guest Lecture: Shu-mei Shih

Shu-mei Shih is a multilingual scholar of modern and contemporary Chinese and Sinophone literature. She has a split appointment in the Departments of Comparative Literature, Asian Languages and Cultures, and Asian American Studies at UCLA, where she organizes humanities-wide research. With her recent work in Sinophone studies, she has changed the scope of Chinese studies to include all Sinitic-language cultures and communities around the globe.
