Pavel Schmidt: Kafka-The Quest for Imagination. Opening of Art Exhibition

The exhibition presented consists of paintings/drawings from the Kafka cycle by the Swiss artist Pavel Schmidt. Schmidt approaches the challenge of the Kafkaesque by refusing to illustrate Kafka. Instead, Schmidt confronts his pictures with particles from Kafka’s unpublished texts and provokes the spectator to find/invent/discover relations, connections, or problematic references. The result is a fascinating exhibition, organized around a constantly shifting center.
