					Description

A reading of the late poem 'Andenken' under the rubric of a central concept in Hölderlin's thought, that of mediated or harmonic opposition. The presentation argues that the poem's paradigmatic use of this concept explains the contradictory readings of it that appear in the scholarship and offers an interpretation of the poetological and philosophical import of harmonic opposition using Stanley Cavell's conception of skepticism.
