					Description

PCOS is a prevalent cause of infertility and diabetes in young women, but human-based evidence for origins of PCOS is incomplete. Dr. Abbott, working with a team of clinical and basic scientists from several disciplines, identified fetal origins for this disease in the monkey, and suggested that it may be linked with a specific gene in humans. In his talk, Dr. Abbott will discuss both the science and the animal procedures involved in his work.
