Cinematheque: Premiere Showcase

In his award-winning third feature, director Köhler transports us to Cameroon where German doctor Ebbo Velten has spent the past twenty years combatting an epidemic of sleeping sickness. It appears he and his wife will be returning soon to Germany for their daughter’s sake. The second part takes place three years later. Ebbo still is in Cameroon. He awaits the visit of a French Congolese doctor to evaluate the efficiency of his program.
