Description
This evening’s journey takes us from Quebec to the early colonies of New England, visiting Moravian communities and the Shakers, and discovering the music from Jefferson’s Library collection in Monticello. Works include “Euroclydon” by William Billings, “Hamshire” by Daniel Read, traditional Shaker tunes, military, ceremonial and dance music and French Canadian music. A free pre-concert lecture by J. Michael Allsen takes place at 6:30 p.m.
Cost
Festival Pass ($75), individual concerts: $20 ($17- students and seniors over 62).
