Friends Hawaiian Sound Salon

Henry Sapoznik will introduce the rich and beautiful Hawaiian music genre through an interview with Alan Akaka, the former president of the Hawaiian Steel Guitar Association. Learn about its rich history and hear Akaka perform live traditional as well as new Hawaiian favorites on his steel guitar. Tom Caw from Mills Music Library will also be on hand to talk about Mills and to share some of its Hawaiian music holdings. Reception to follow.
