Italia is a survivor of the systematic sexual torture committed by Mexican police in the town of Atenco on 5-4-06. But she is also much more: a fighter for social justice, a member of the Other Campaign, an educator, a source of hope. Italia's presentation - we Overcame torture - will have important lessons for defenders of women's rights, autonomy, human rights, and for activists at large.
