Week 12: Jen Johnson, Ph.D. candidate (English education, Teachers College, Columbia University) will speak on “Hip-Hop Debate: Remixing Literacies and Textual Possibilities for the 21st Century Classroom.” This year's series will again focus on how hip-hop culture can provide innovative approaches to help bridge the achievement gap with new strategies to reach historically underserved students.
