Presented by: Rosamaria Kostic Cisneros. The art of Flamenco dancing lives and dies on stage. Flamenco is a political art form that offers insight into the elusive culture of the Roma. This talk looks at the dynamics of women onstage within the Flamenco sphere as seen through the documentary series “Rito y Geografia” (Rite and Geography). Gender roles are examined in the context of popular culture during Franco’s Spain.
