Description
Mosquito populations that spread West Nile Virus have become a health hazard in the Southwest. In southern Arizona, a team of entomologists, climatologists, spatial theorists, and political ecologists seek to understand these disease vectors. The current management landscape leaves homeowners to improvise their own strategies. This leads to “internalization” of responsibility for public health and a decline in expectations of state intervention, with serious implications for public health.
