Description
Edwidge Danticat was born in Haiti in 1969 and came to the United States when she was 12 years old. She made an auspicious debut with her first novel, Breath, Eyes, Memory, and followed by being the youngest nominee for the National Book Award ever. She is the author of two novels, two collections of stories, two books for young adults, and two nonfiction books. In 2009, she received a MacArthur Fellowship.
