Description
“Sideburns” is a comedy by the director Yury Mamin. In the provincial town of Zaborsk, a new organization of “Pushkinists” has appeared. Sporting sideburns and canes (made good use of in encounters with punk hooligans roaming the city), they read the poetry of Pushkin and take part in political intrigue. The film ends in a fierce battle, with the Pushkinists being forcibly shaved of their sideburns and paraded in yellow jackets to a ready of poetry by Mayakovsky.
