Description
Schools are promoted as potentially productive sites of democratic education based on the assumption of greater ideological diversity in classrooms than many other venues. This presentation addresses how much ideological diversity exists in high school classes, how teachers can "activate" students' awareness of the diversity that exists in their midst, and what impact intentional pedagogy has on the desired outcomes by democratic educators.
