Rubén Ríos Ávila, chair of the Department of Comparative Literature at the University of Puerto Rico. He teaches literary theory, Lacanian theory, contemporary Spanish American and Puerto Rican literature and film. He sits on the editorial board for the magazine Hotel Abismo. Presented by the Contemporary Spanish American Studies Colloquium.
