Literacy and Health Disparities

Professor Paul D. Smith, MD, associate director for Wisconsin Research and Education Network presents. Smith will discuss literacy and health literacy, the magnitude of the problem in the United States and how they impact health and health outcomes. He will also discuss why it’s important to measure health literacy as a demographic factor for health disparities research and available measurement tools including pros and cons of each method.
