Interdisciplinary Artist in Residence: Alex Rivera

The films of Fall 2013 Interdisciplinary Artist-in-Residence Alex Rivera explore issues of labor, migration, and other cross-border exchanges. Sleep Dealer (2008) depicts a dystopian future to explore ways in which technology both oppresses and connects migrants. The Borders Trilogy (2003) illuminates the contradictions of a world order in which products freely cross borders that people may not. A Q&A with Alex Rivera will follow.
