UW Jazz Orchestra

Presenting Latin jazz mixed with funk, hip-hop, gospel, and house. Chris Washburne received a BM from UW in 1986. He is now the Associate Professor of Music and Director of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance program at Columbia University. Chris Washburne has been called the "best trombonist in salsa" by Peter Watrous of the New York Times. He is leader of the highly acclaimed Latin jazz group SYOTOS, the busiest and most in demand Latin jazz band in New York.
