In the Realm of the Red Ape: Among Borneo's Last Orangutans

Join us in Orangutan Caring Week at Henry Vilas Zoo, for hors d’oeuvres and a special presentation by Dr Graham L Banes, who returns from Borneo to present the latest findings from his orangutan research. In addition to sharing stories of life among these apes, Dr Banes will speak of the challenges they face today and report on his encounters with illegal miners who continue to decimate the orangutans’ home. Dr Banes is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Veterinary Medicine at UW-Madison.
