Materials Science Program Seminar

Chemically Exfoliated 2D Materials: Enhancing Their Functionality Through Disorder Engineering

Event Details

Date
Thursday, December 12, 2013
Time
4-5 p.m.
Description
Manish Chhowala, MSE Dept., Rutgers University. In this talk, I will describe the properties of chemically exfoliated graphene and how by tuning the atomic and chemical structures it is possible to tune its opto-electronic properties. I will also discuss how several different structural phases with disparate properties in transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) nanosheets such as MoS2 and WS2 are possible and how their concentrations can be controlled.
