Description
Understanding current problems in the Galápagos Islands requires a return to the annals of evolutionary science to analyze how that history has shaped the islands. Tracing this history on the backs of the islands’ most iconic species, giant tortoises, shows how the development of evolutionary science has reshaped understandings of island nature and how it is managed.
