Description
This lecture will present the results of recent archaeological work at Sardis, including excavation at a sanctuary of the Roman imperial cult and its transformation in late antiquity into a possible location of Jewish worship; work in the area believed to be the palace of king Croesus, famous throughout history as the wealthiest man in the world; and the discovery of one of the largest triumphal arches in the Roman world.
