CREECA Lecture Series

Presenting a combination lecture and musical performance, the traditional Bulgarian band Kabile will be on campus to offer a brief sample of Bulgarian village music and demonstrate the various village instruments they incorporate into their musical repertoire, including the gadulka, the kaval, the gaida and the tapan. They will also be on hand to sing songs and explain the various social uses and contexts for each composition.
