Description
Prof. Mikhail Kats, ECE, UW-Madison. The mid-infrared (mid-IR) spectral range (wavelengths from ~ 2 μm to ~20 μm) has recently become more important for a variety of applications including imaging, spectroscopy, gas sensing, medical diagnostics, and free space communications. However, compared to their counterparts in the visible, optical components in the mid-IR are still significantly under-developed.
