Carrie Eaton, Curator of Collections at the UW Geology Museum, presenter. The late 19th century saw the discovery of many mastodon fossils across southern Wisconsin. Two of these finds were purchased by the University of Wisconsin for its Geology Museum. One was on display for nearly 100 years while the other was lost for more than a century.
