Lessons from Louisiana’s higher education budget debate

The governors in Wisconsin and Louisiana both proposed steep reductions in spending for higher education in their most recent state budgets. Unlike in Wisconsin, however, Louisiana’s public colleges and universities were largely spared from cuts after a vigorous debate. In this discussion via Skype, LSU President F. King Alexander will discuss what happened in Louisiana and lessons we can all learn for preserving funding for higher education in future state budgets.
