Description
Property rights are essential to sustainability. Contemporary property ownership came into being in the 18th century following the American and French revolutions. Modern property is widely understood to contribute to the progress of the west from the 18th century to the present. Yet the world of today is not the world of the 18th, 19th or even 20th centuries. This presentation examines the debate over whether and how the18th century property concept is appropriate for the 21st century.
