Description
Inspired by Howard Zinn’s "A People’s History of the United States," this meditation on America’s populist heroes arranges elegantly composed shots of public shrines and memorials into “a moving and intriguing reverie” (New York Times) that was voted best Experimental Film of 2007 by the National Society of Film Critics. Preceded by Jem Cohen’s "Little Flags" (2000, 6 min.), a haunting contemplation of a Gulf War parade scored by Fugazi.
