Description
One of the last films Lubitsch made in Germany, this European silent spectacular is filmmaking at its best: Emil Jannings as Pharaoh lords over monumental sets built in the legendary Lubitsch Film City and 25,000 extras inhabit them. Ancient Egypt has never looked so good as in this recent restoration by the Munich Filmmuseum, presented by archivist Stefan Drößler. Live musical accompaniment. (35mm, b/w, 110 min.
