The presentation is about the role of incorporation into U.S. schooling in creating/erasing the Indigenous identity in Puerto Rico. The study looked closely at the language education policy and textbooks of the early period of U.S. schooling and then the current period, analyzing 4th and 7th grade Spanish and Social Studies standards, textbooks; and then interviews with 28 teachers.
