Description
Gabriela Soto LaVeaga is one of the leading scholars of the History of Science and Medicine in Latin America. This talk uses the example of Mexican scientific agriculture, specifically hybrid wheat seeds, to examine the nature of historical memory and why certain terms, such as “development projects,” help to create insurmountable binaries and incomplete narratives that persist over time. Sponsored by the Department of Medical History and Bioethics.
