Description
Laura McLay, UW Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, will discuss how teams for the College Football Playoff for NCAA Division IA men's football are selected and a method for forecasting the four team playoff weeks before, using a modified logistic regression/Markov chain model. The method can also be applied to rank NCAA basketball teams and fill out a bracket in the tournament. http://bracketology.engr.wisc.edu/
