Description
La Cineteca italiana is a weekly film series that showcases a variety of Italian films with English subtitles.
This week we are screening “Johnny Stecchino.” Writer and director Roberto Benigni, stars in the film in the dual roles of Dante, a good-hearted yet naive bus driver, and “Johnny Toothpick,” an infamous mafioso. When Dante, a spitting image of the mobster, encounters Johnny’s girlfriend Maria (played by Nicoletta Braschi), the comedy of mistaken identity ensues.
