Description
Approximately 2.2 million people are incarcerated in the United States, with between 220,000-550,000 reporting a serious mental illness. The mental illnesses disproportionately represented in incarcerated populations include disorders that are difficult to treat and to research, and thus are under-funded by research funding mechanisms. This talk will examine the scope of this problem and provide policy recommendations for increasing the conduction and dissemination of research on these disorders
