Sebastian Heinz from the UW-Madison Astronomy will discuss the recent first-ever (by Event-Horizon Telescope) images of a massive black hole at the center of a nearby galaxy. Which comes first? The galaxy or the black hole? How do supermassive black holes function in the development of galaxies?
