Guest Presentation at Space Place
"Supermassive Black Holes and the Galaxies that Make Them"
Tuesday, June 11, 2019
UW Space Place, 2300 S. Park St. (lower level of the Atrium)
Sebastian Heinz from the UW-Madison Astronomy will discuss the recent first-ever (by Event-Horizon Telescope) images of a massive black hole at the center of a nearby galaxy. Which comes first? The galaxy or the black hole? How do supermassive black holes function in the development of galaxies?
