Dr. Phillip Reu, Sandia National Laboratories, will highlight the growth of DIC through a range of
examples including modal testing, quasi‐static material testing and high‐rate testing at both the large‐scale
and the micro‐scale (see figure). I will illustrate of how DIC has been successfully used at Sandia for making
critical engineering measurements. I will also briefly discuss the ongoing work of the international Digital
Image Correlation society (www.iDICs.org).
