Using Big Data to Detect Clinical Deterioration

Dr. Matthew Churpek is an Associate Visiting Professor in the Department of Medicine. He will discuss the importance of early identification of clinical deterioration, tools used in hospitals to identify high-risk patients, and how machine learning can be used to develop more accurate tools. He will then demonstrate how these novel machine learning algorithms can be deployed in hospitals to improve patient outcomes.
