Swipe Drive: Help UW-Madison Swipe Out Hunger
UW-Madison joins national Swipe Out Hunger initiative devoted to ending college student hunger
Event Details
Join Student Affairs and campus partners Oct. 4 - 11 for UW–Madison’s first Swipe Drive! Through the Wisconsin Union, RecWell, and University Housing, students will be able to donate $1 when making a purchase with their Wiscard across campus. Donations will directly support UW–Madison's Badger FARE program, an established food security fund that ensures all Badgers have access to affordable & nutritious food.
Today, 1 in 3 college students across the country will struggle with a worrying question on their mind: where will my next meal come from?
With inaccessible and inadequate federal support for this issue and a troubling stigma preventing some students from seeking assistance, food insecurity remains among the top concerns of college students and leaders in the US — and at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
Through a student-led initiative in partnership with the Dean of Students Office, UW-Madison is now the first Swipe Out Hunger partner in the entire state of Wisconsin. Please join us Oct. 4-11 and help other Badgers experiencing food insecurity on our campus.
