On Being Otherwise Sin Querer Queriendo
Monday, March 21, 2022
Rm 220, Teacher Education
Interrogating the ways in which we are shaped through and in-between pop culture and understanding pop culture as curriculum, Prof. Friedrich will examine the affective entanglements of Latin American childhoods and narratives of schooling and heroism present in stories specifically Latin American icons El Chavo del Ocho and El Chapulín Colorado. The talk will conclude by considering how the ideas of more than/other than human in pop culture can contribute to imagining schooling otherwise.
