Description
Frances Vavrus will draw on her decades of teaching and research in Tanzania as she explores the optimistic view that more schooling will secure better lives for youth in precarious circumstances. She examines the global dissemination of 'best practices' for teaching and learning as a type of educational reasoning and counters its claims of universal applicability through her reflexive, longitudinal ethnographic research on comparative pedagogies, epistemological diversity, and uncertainty.
