Description
The economic restructuring that started in Cuba in the 1990s and especially the most recent wave of reforms since 2010 have radically transformed opportunities for social mobility available to Cubans. This talk examines how Cubans in Havana are navigating the economic restructuring, and specifically how they are using their homes for both social welfare provision as well as social mobility, which used to be largely provided and structured by the state. Presented by Martina Kunovic.
