Canvas – New Analytics
Learn@UW Online Trainings - August 2024
Event Details
New Analytics is a Canvas feature that was turned on for all UW-Madison courses in late July. When students interact with Canvas content and activity - for example when they view course pages, submit assignments, participate in online discussions, and submit quizzes - that activity data will appear in New Analytics.
New Analytics provides interactive graphs and tables that allow instructors and students to view data related to course grades, activity, and communication. You can also download the data.
- Instructors can track student grades, submission status, weekly course activity, individual student participation, and online attendance. Instructors can also use New Analytics to message students based on their submission status or grade.
- Students can use New Analytics to view their own course activity, and filter the interactive visualizations about their grades, weekly online activity, and their communications with instructors.
Join us as we walk through the interactive visualizations, and talk about how both instructors and students can access and use this data.
This session is entirely remote and will be held in a Zoom room. The link to the Zoom room is provided nearby.
This session is organized and hosted by Learn@UW-Madison in collaboration with the Learning Analytics Center of Excellence.
