Description
You’re invited to an unprecedented lineup in Shannon Hall featuring Hip Hop and social justice innovators Digable Planets alongside experimental rapper MIKE, as we celebrate the futures we can create together through art and shared experience. Digable Planets, known for their GRAMMY‑winning breakout and influential albums blending jazz, social insight, and Black liberation, continue to shape the genre more than 30 years after their debut. New to the scene, but hailed as old school, MIKE, is a champion of independent Hip Hop whose authentic, sample‑based style has earned admiration from peers like Earl Sweatshirt. This culminating concert event honors and celebrates Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy as it speaks to many generations at once by epitomizing Black resilience, creative evolution, and the enduring power of lyrical art.
