CS EDU Seminar

GenAI has transformed intro programming, reducing learning to a transactional, process that erodes engagement. In response, we redesigned our CS1 course to emphasize human-centered, process-oriented learning. We integrated TA-led social study groups, replaced automated assignments with collaborative handwritten work, and required students to keep process journals documenting their problem-solving. Preliminary results show improved social interaction and engagement with learning.
