Reception: Friday, May 22, 8-11pm. Signals in Flux is an immersive installation that translates environmental data from a year of satellite data, captured by NOAA-21, a joint NASA/NOAA satellite system, into a dynamic field of light and sound. In this iteration of the Signals installation, a year of North American wildfire data involving luminosity, frequency, and temporal fluctuation is rendered into dynamic visual outputs through Max/MSP Jitter and paired with a spatialized soundscape.
