Description
Since Ordinary Girls explores identity, resilience, belonging, Puerto Rican heritage, queerness, community, and coming of age, you could lean into the event as more than a book discussion—something that invites conversation and relationship-building. The memoir follows Jaquira Díaz's (UW alumna) experiences growing up between Puerto Rico and Miami while navigating family, poverty, violence, and identity, ultimately centering survival, hope, and finding home.
