Description
Professor Kumar is the Brown Family Chair of South Asian History at Claremont McKenna College as well Honorary Director of the Center for Postcolonial Education and NIRMAN. Kumar will discuss the contemporary scene of schooling in India and, briefly, its history, to explore what kind of modernity we might desire and the role that schools would play toward achieving this modernity.
