Description
A pioneer in computer animation, John Whitney was experimenting with motion graphics as early as the 1950s. Best known for assisting Saul Bass in creating the hypnotic Lissajous spirals that rotate throughout the opening credit sequence for Vertigo, he later became IBM's first artist in residence. Whitney envisioned not only a new style of animation, but the techniques with which to realize it.
