Description
As a staff reporter for ProPublica, Sheri Fink, M.D., Ph.D., focused on the roles of medical professionals in disasters and the fight against terrorism. Her story “The Deadly Choices at Memorial,” co-published with the New York Times Magazine, chronicled decisions made by the medical staff of one New Orleans hospital in the desperate days after Hurricane Katrina. The story’s honors included a 2010 Pulitzer Prize in investigative reporting and the 2010 National Magazine Award in reporting.
