1:15 p.m. Dr. Eric Kandel speaks at 1:30; Kandel won the 2000 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his research on the physiological basis of memory storage in neurons. Dr. Susan Lindquist speaks at 2:30; Lindquist was awarded the National Medal of Science in 2010 and is a pioneer in the study of protein folding in heat-shock proteins and prions. Dr. Stanley Prusiner speaks at 3:30; Prusiner was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1997 for his discovery of prions.
